Structural evaluation
This procedure is applicable to reinforced concrete poured on site, precast concrete and concrete poured on site after tension. The evaluation of the existing concrete building is usually carried out in order to measure the extent of stability, strength of the structure, its safety and its expected life. The structural evaluation is necessary in the following cases:
- The building has been subjected to excessive or unsuitable loads, vibrations, fire, etc.
Appearance of signs of stress or deterioration such as excessive cracking or spalling of concrete, and rusting of rebar.
Establishments that are suspicious in terms of design, materials used, or construction method.
Doubts about the safety of future loading and the original design criteria.
When changing the usage or occupancy size.
After maintenance or strengthening.
The structural assessment process at Tech-Smart includes visual inspection and non-destructive testing of concrete elements for any signs of structural weakness such as cracks, noticeable movements, bending, deflections and uneven sagging to determine the structural efficiency. Our professional engineers evaluate structural elements to ensure that these elements can continue to perform their intended function safely.
